(RB) Thank you very much Peter. I am serving as Host for this meeting and would not have missed it for anything.

The trip from the United States was uneventful, and this is the best March day I have ever seen in London. (Audience chuckle)

We are very concerned about this theme in the United States, and one reason I was anxious about the need to talk together about some shared concerns. The work in research within design in the UK is certainly far ahead of work in the United States. I will be candid about that, and we are getting to understand how and why you are doing it. So participating in this meeting is a great opportunity to share some things and learn a lot.

So I am very glad to welcome you to this event.
